Sunday, October 10th, was a big day at Afraha Stadium as Nakuru Bucks FC claimed a hard fought victory in a fiercely contested Derby. The atmosphere was electric as passionate fans gathered to witness the intense clash between St. Joseph’s FC and Nakuru Bucks.
The first leg had seen St. Joseph’s emerge victorious with a 0-2 scoreline, but the Bucks were determined to turn the tide. Coming into the match with a string of three consecutive defeats, Bucks displayed a fighting spirit from the outset.
The game ignited early when former Bucks central defender Elisha Nalianya scored an own goal in the 17th minute, giving Bucks an early lead.Kelvin Kariuki doubled the advantage with a well placed low shot in the 39th minute, pushing the Bucks ahead at halftime.
In the second half, Ian Illodanga proved to be a constant threat to the St. Joseph’s defense, creating multiple scoring opportunities.
